Shred Circuit Recap: The So-Gnar Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour 2011-12 - Stop 01 - Echo Mtn, CO
On December 10th, 2011 The first ever So-Gnar Shred Circuit Contest Series was held at Echo Mountain in conjunction with the Mighty Midwest Tour. Being the first ever contest that So-Gnar has held, the turnout was great and the competitors were stoked! Registration was all day until 5p.m. which included a Shred Circuit Firehouse beanie. Free for campers and only 20 bucks for competitors only provided a cheap, fun, jam style competition held on our So-Gnar park which isn't open to the public. With everything from down rails to hip transfers to bonks to stalls and even the Zumiez couch, the park set-up was extremely unique. Practice started at 5p.m. and ended at 6p.m. so the riders could get a feel for the set up. At 6p.m. the fun began. Sessioning one feature at a time, riders were able to utilize all of the features and be comfortable with time. Competing all the way until 8p.m. the riders were worn out from throwing down hammers and constantly hiking. Finally the awards started with a different feel. Instead of first second and third, prizes were given for things such as best style, most creative, best attitude, etc. There was a best overall prize given to Never Summer's Billy Rodriguez which guaranteed him a spot in the finals at Winter Park Resort April 7th. Colorado's own Michal Menert will be playing a free show at the finals and 12 pros will be invited to compete. Here are the Results of Stop 1 of the Shred Circuit: Overall Winner/ Qualifier #1 for an All Expense ...
